I think this story is significant. Picnik is offering an API for any website to add photo editing. This means the visitors to your site can edit any photo right within your website. How can you apply this to your situation? Well if you have an ecommerce site with photos of your products, you can now allow your customers to customize those products. They just edit the photo and submit back their customizations to that photo. You then will have an exact photo of what the user wants to buy from you, so you can produce it.
